Friday night saw the annual Kings Langley CC awards when the club celebrated the highs and lows of the season.
The main high was the first team’s third place finish in Division One, just missing out on promotion to the Championship.
The second XI finished mid-table after a promising start, but the thirds had a disappointing outcome as they were relegated.
The fourth XI, meanwhile, fulfilled their role in providing a first taste of cricket for junior players and participation for others.
This year’s award winners were: 4th XI Batsman - George Hunt; 4th XI Bowler - Tony Thompson; 3rd XI Batsman - Russell Knights; 3rd XI Bowler -Josh Lloyd; 2nd XI Batsman - Kevin Rolfe; 2nd XI Bowler - Duane Smith; 1st XI Batsman - Ricky Mohammed; 1st XI Bowler - Dan Donaldson.
Special tribute went to overseas player Dan who made a massive contribution on and off the pitch in Saturday league games, skippering the Sunday side and coaching junior players.
Dan ended the season with an impressive total of 1,148 runs at an average of 48 and 68 wickets at 14.
