Leverstock Green Cricket Club held a coffee, mince pies and mulled wine morning on Saturday to help raise funds towards the renovations taking place at the club.
Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning attended the well-supported event which raised more than £500.
Mr Penning said: “I was delighted to attend the coffee morning raising money for the new pavilion and it was great to see that the work on the pavilion has started.
“It was a fantastic turnout and it is good to see the whole community coming together in support of the club. I wish the club success for the future.”
Leverstock Green CC fundraising committee member Gloria Odell added: “We are desperately trying to raise in excess of £40,000 to help keep this much-loved community asset up and running.
“We’ll be doing lots more fundraising over the coming months and hope local people and businesses will all get involved and show their support. We’re open to ideas and welcome any thoughts.”
