Oakman Inns has announced that it will continue to support Tring Park Cricket Club during 2014 with substantial sponsorship investments on and off the field.

The company, founded and led by local businessman Peter Borg-Neal – which includes The Akeman in Tring – will invest in the cricket club to help to support the thriving youth section, as well as the senior set-up.

Youth section membership renewals include a £10 Akeman dining voucher, while on each Saturday during the playing season, the Akeman player-of-the-match across all teams will receive a £25 voucher.

Off the field, the company has confirmed that it is joining forces once more with Tring Brewery and Tring Park Nursery as the principal sponsors of the Festival of Fire in November.

Mr Borg-Neal said: “Sport is one of the driving forces of this town and I’m delighted that we are maintaining our great relationship with the cricket club.

“Club members, their families and their friends have been very supportive to us over the years and I’m pleased we can do our bit to encourage a wonderful local facility that benefits the whole of the community.”

Simon Shearman, chairman of Tring Park Cricket Club, added: “The cricket club and The Akeman are two of the reasons this great town punches above its weight.

“We’re extremely grateful to Oakman Inns for the continued support.”
