NORTHCHURCH were left frustrated after their game with Eversholt was abandoned due to rain.

After 48 overs, Northchurch were well placed on 211-4 – with Dave Gibson (62 n/o) hitting four sixes in a 47 balls.

Earlier, Jamie Eccles had made his fifth league score of 50 or more with a round half-century from 81 balls.

The rain then arrived to scupper Northchurch’s chances of claiming the win, but the side now need just seven points from their final game to return to Division Two.

Meanwhile, Northchurch II’s game at home to Eversholt II also fell foul of the weather without a ball being bowled.

On Sunday, however, Tom Calder (115 n/o) and Jamie Eccles (107 n/o) set a new Northchurch fourth-wicket partnership record of 205 not out as the Sunday XI racked up 290 against Mayfields.

Two wickets each for Charles Fidler, Ali Bremnath, Oli Johnson and Glenn Randall, as well as one for George Liveing, then helped bowl Northfields out for 172 and secured the win for Northchurch.

Elsewhere, the Northchurch Sunday second XI also bagged a win.
