TringRugby has made another step towards an exciting future after becoming an RFU Accredited Club.

RFU regional development officer Mel Liley visited the club at the weekend to officially present the award, which provides a framework for a club to show what it is doing, how it does it, and where it can improve.

The club – and honorary secretary Deric Newman in particular – has worked hard to achieve the Accredited Club status which is designed to ensure all club sections become stronger, more effective, more efficient and more enjoyable places in which to play rugby.

To retain its Accredited Club status, TringRugby will be expected to undertake an annual self-review, with a more formal review with the regional development officer every two years.

This process will form part of the club’s annual development planning process.
