Tring toppled as Nuffield St Albans prove too strong

The Tring Squash Club men’s first team suffered a 4-1 defeat to a strong Nuffield St Albans squad containing some world-ranked professionals.

On first for Tring was Darren Withey, who suffered his first defeat of the season as he went down 3-2 to Spanish professional Jaume Ramisl.

Next on was Tring’s Alex Preston, who played French pro Pedro Pinto and comfortably won 3-0.

With the scores locked at 1-1 overall, Tring’s Matt Marshall pulled a muscle at 2-0 up and went on to lose 3-2 to Jack Fowler.

Next up for Tring was Tom Power who was beaten 3-0 by world-ranked Aurther Moineau .

Lastly, Tring number one Tom Phipps battled hard but eventually went down 3-0 to world-ranked pro Ondrej Uherka.

Tring’s next home game is on Thursday, March 6 at 7.40pm, and spectators are welcome to attend.
