Tring swimmers out in force at Spring Development Meet

A large contingent of 38 swimmers from Tring Swimming Club attended the Spring Development Meet at Hemel Hempstead.

More than 290 swimmers from 10 clubs competed in 1,100 swims, with Tring bagging 53 medals – 28 golds, 16 silvers and nine bronzes – as well as setting 83 new personal best times.

Coach Steve Aldred said: “We had a really great night with some excellent individual swims, lots of medals and a great atmosphere.

“The future for Tring Swimming club is looking good with some promising young swimmers coming through.”

Gold medal performances came from: Zach Fendsome, Max Gething, Joe Judson, Frankie Lorimer, Kiera Wharton, Chloe Woodruff, Callum Bullock, Nathan Gething, Helen Jennings, Robert Jennings, Peter Kenyon, Michael Renkel, Molly Renshaw, George Thorne and Harry Thorne.

Additional medal winning performances came from: Thomas Monks, Ed Birch, Harrison Bullock, Brianna Mazey, Chloe Moller and Jonathan Watson.

Jayne Kenyon, poolside steward, highlighted Hannah Knight for winning a bronze medal (50m back) in her first open meet, and Josh Weston who arrived with a broken finger and still managed PBs in the 50m butterfly, 100m IM and 50m breaststroke.
