Hemel Hempstead Camelot 91 London Nigerian 10
Hemel Camelot racked up one of the biggest league wins in their history on Saturday as they ran riot against London Nigerian.
Having struggled against their opposition in the away fixture earlier this season, Camelot thought they would be in for a testing game but this did not prove to be the case as the hosts ran in a total of 15 tries.
The opening exchanges masked what was to follow as the visitors set about disrupting the Camelot eight in the early encounters close to their own line.
However it didn’t take long for the floodgates to open and prop Joe charged over to start the rout.
A flow of tries followed – first, full-back Nick Merritt got on the scoreboard before winger Carl Buckingham helped himself to the first of his six scores.
By half-time, Tom Aitken, Buckingham (2), Richard Woodard and Ross Willoughby had taken the try count to eight.
With Woodard also chipping in with five conversions, Hemel had scored 50 points with only a consolation try coming from London Nigerian.
Unfortunately for the visitors the second half was no better and further tries from Hadyn Morgan, Willoughby, Buckingham (3), Merritt, and Richards plus three conversions from Woodard meant that Hemel took their final score to an incredible 91 points.
Next up for Camelot is a home clash with Grasshoppers on Saturday, kick-off 2.30pm
