Sprint star Chenna Okoh was the big winner at the Dacorum & Tring AC awards evening held at JFK School in Hemel Hempstead.
Okoh came away with a total of five trophies – a testament to his stellar season where he shot to the number one ranking in the UK for the U15 boys’ 300m, broke several club records, became county champion in five events, and won the 300m silver medal in the English Schools national championships.
Among his awards on the night, the 14-year-old athlete was presented with trophies for Outstanding Male Sprinter and Outstanding Male Athlete.
Other winners of significant awards on the night include: Club Athlete award, Megan Smith; Outstanding Veteran, Catherine Davies; Outstanding Middle Distance, Matt Salt; Outstanding Field Athlete, James Weller; Outstanding Female Athlete, Phillipa Lowe; Best relay team, U15 boys’ 4x100m relay squad; Most improved performance - throws, Callum Molloy; Most improved performance - jumps, Talia Morton-Kemsley.
Points winners from the Eastern Youth Athletics League matches were Talia Morton-Kemsley, Tom Wright, Laurette Wenborn, Okoh, Robyn Khan and Josh Brown, while Natasha Brunning and Trevor Ratcliffe took the prizes for most points at the Southern Athletics League.
Sylvia Fitzwilliam and Diane Ratcliffe also won well-deserved awards for their services to the club.
