HOCKEY: The men’s thirds secured the pick of the results for Tring this week as they thrashed Harrow 6-0.
It was a dominant display from Tring from the off, and Hamish Percy gave them a deserved early lead.
Greg Walton was next to find the target for Tring as he doubled the advantage before half-time.
The second half was a precession for Tring, and they wrapped up the win with further goals from Dan Thompson (2) Stuart Percy and Walton.
The ladies’ first XI, however, were edged out 4-3 in an entertaining game at Letchworth.
Tring were magnificent in the first half and took a 3-0 lead into the interval, but Letchworth came out with renewed vigour after the break and turned the game on its head to snatch an unlikely win.
The ladies’ seconds, though, swept to a 3-1 victory over Leighton Buzzard.
Tring found themselves a goal down after a controversial short corner, but the side responded well to take the lead before Ella Whitehead wrapped up the victory.
The ladies’ fifth XI also bagged a win as they romped past Hertford 5-1. Daisy Goldhagen (2) Laura Roberts (2) and Katie Turnbull got the goals.
The Tring Supervets, however, lost 4-1 to Southgate, despite a goal from Paul Withers.
