Proud fighter Edward Arthur is pictured with his first title belt after an impressive victory in the first round at the Sunday Brawl Mixed Martial Arts competition in Croydon.

The 22-year-old scaffolder from Grovehill, Hemel Hempstead, entertained crowds by forcing his opponent Ricci Woodward to tap out in the first minute of the first round.

Although he competed in the semi-professional bout back in November, Arthur has just received his featherweight SBMMA Champion belt.

He said: “I’m very pleased. The hard work paid off for both me and the team. This is not just my belt, it belongs to the whole team.”

Edward trains under professional fighter Denniston ‘Mad Max’ Sutherland who owns Hemel Martial Arts in Fensomes Alley.

The coach said: “This is the first title of many for this rising star from Hemel Martial Arts. I’m confident that he is going to go on and do big things.”
