IT was a momentous weekend for the Herts Raptors as they finally picked up their first win of the 2011 season.

After ten losses in a row, it was looking as though the Raptors were heading for a winless campaign, but the side put in a fine display to see of the Tonbridge Bobcats 37-23.

The first couple of innings were tight, with the home side taking a narrow lead, but Herts upped their game to score 13 runs in the third.

Hemel Hempstead’s Will Belbin scored two runs in the inning, and went on to score five on the day.

From then on there was only going to be one winner, and Hemel held out to secure the elusive victory.

Berkhamsted’s Arnie Longboy was on form for the Raptors, scoring seven runs.
