Ladies’ and girls’ rugby could be on its way to Cow Lane after TringRugby announced plans to hold taster sessions next month.

As things currently stand, the club offers rugby to girls under the age of 12 during Sunday morning sessions, but the aim is to expand the provision up to adult rugby.

Lucie Monk, who plays regularly and went to school at Ashlyns, will run the proposed ladies’ section with assistance from Melanie Liley, the club’s RFU development officer, as well as some of the current TringRugby coaches and players.

To assess the level of interest, the club will be running two free taster sessions at Cow Lane on September 14 and 21, from 1.30pm until 3pm for ladies and girls from U13 upwards.

Participants don’t need to have any previous playing experience, everyone is welcome. For information, please contact communications@tringrugby.com
