Little Hay juniors take centre stage during half-term

Wet conditions and a windy day didn’t deter the Little Hay juniors from playing their two half-term competitions where some very good scores were recorded.

Last Wednesday, Brad Tobin and Daniel Barker tied for the lead with 45 points each, with Tobin winning on countback ahead of Barker and Luke Wrathall. In Friday’s competition, Jamie Barker was first with 41 Stableford points, second was Craig Walker with 40 points and Robbie McIvor took third with 38 points.

Also on Friday, the winners of the juniors trophies for 2013 were presented. Jamie Barker won the Order of Merit, Hamish Jarvie bagged the Junior Championship, and Luke Wrathall scooped the Junior Cup.

In the men’s section, Nick Jefferson won the Alan Irwin Shield with a score of 37 points. Second was Steven Crowhurst with 36 points and Mick Milne was third with 34 points.

The senior men’s February Stableford was won by Peter Balding with 39 points, ahead of Derek Tarling and Andy Sergides with 38 points.
