Lightening fast Ja’tila on track to get to the top

A SPRINTER from Hemel Hempstead looks set for a bright future after clinching silver in the 100m at the English Schools Championships.

Ja’tila Reavill-Blake, from Evergreen Walk, stormed home in a personal best time of 12.06 seconds to take the silver, and now has her sights set on representing Great Britain in the future.

She said: “I wasn’t expected to get silver because I had only qualified for the final as a fastest loser.

“But I had learned from that race what I needed to do. I got off to a really good start and knew that I was going to run a good race.

“I wasn’t sure if I had come third or second, and then when I was told it was second, I just started screaming!

17-year-old Ja’tila, who runs for Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow Athletic Club, is now targeting the World Junior Championships in two years’ time.
