Dacorum & Tring AC Road Runner Kirsty Russell finished her 5 Races in 5 Months challenge at the weekend, with a superb PB in the BUPA London 10,000 through central London.
Russell took on the challenge to raise funds for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, and she has raised £1,320 so far on her whirlwind schedule of races, which began in January with the Walt Disney World Marathon in Florida.
From there, she ran in the Watford Half Marathon in February, the Silverstone Half Marathon a month later, where she shattered her PB for the distance by six minutes, and the Virgin London Marathon in April.
Her achievement, which she says was the biggest challenge she’s ever undertaken, saw her race a total of 84 miles over the five months.
In other club news, Pat Hayball finished the Edinburgh Marathon in a time of 4.17, bettering her previous marathon best by 33 minutes, and breaking the club record for the distance in the V50 category.
