Gade Valley Harriers’ weekend racing had a 10K theme this week, with a team of nine Harriers tackling the Bushey 10K and bagging a fistful of new PBs.

Mikey Ferris was first home for the Harriers, with an excellent new PB of 37:06 minutes – good enough for fourth place overall out of 342 runners, and second in his age category.

Following Ferris was Steve Newing, who beat last week’s 10K PB, chalking up a time of 40:14.

Next home for Gade Valley was Andy Bishop in 42:29, Gemma Bitaraf in a 42:38 PB (second female), Russ Bailey in 47:53, Paul Heskin in 48:54, Joanna Kidd in 56:57, Helen Heathcote in 1:01:39, and Claire Terry in 1:11:26.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Harriers Laura Sharma and Kathleen Courtier competed at the Southwark 10K Race in London, and both set new PBs.

Sharma finished as sixth woman overall, with Kathleen – in her first 10K race – not far behind in 11th overall position.

The St Albans parkrun featured two Harriers runners this week, with Bailey first back in 22:43 and Luca Ramusino finishing in 31:37.

Vince Ellerby was the lone entrant at the Black Park parkrun and came back in a very impressive 10th overall place in a time of 20:15.
