Tring Squash Club has received a grant which will help to encourage more people to play the sport.
The club is offering a free six-week course to men and women over the age of 16, with the coaching being provided by a professional coach.
The ladies’ sessions start on Saturday, January 25 and the men’s course begins on Saturday, March 8.
Each session will begin at 10.20am and last one hour. Numbers are limited to 16 players for each course.
The courses are aimed primarily at non-members who do not necessarily have to join the club in order to take part. Beginners and inexperienced players are equally welcome to attend.
The club will provide playing equipment and chairman Betty Longhurst said: “This is a great free opportunity for beginners to try a new sport and for inexperienced players to improve their skills and fitness.”
Tring is a members’ club with a total membership of 380. It boasts good squash and social facilities, including four well-maintained courts and a bar that is open every evening.
Anybody who is interested in joining one of the free courses or would like more information on the club should call Betty on 01296 660711 or email email@example.com
