Snow+Rock and iON Cameras are joining forces to provide ski enthusiasts with the opportunity to learn from Olympic snowsport hopefuls at The Snow Centre this week.

Britain’s No 1 and World Freestyle Ski Champion James ‘Woodsy’ Woods and World No 6 Snowboard Slopestyle Rider Billy Morgan will be at Snow+Rock’s Store at The Snow Centre on Friday from 5pm to 7pm to sign autographs, answer questions and offer tips on ski and snowboard technique.

Phil Gordon, ski buyer for Snow+Rock said: “With the Winter Olympics only 15 weeks away, we are both excited and privileged to have Woodsy and Billy at our forthcoming event.

“The event will give snow-sport enthusiasts of all ages and abilities the chance to meet two world-class athletes and hear first-hand about their experiences and what it’s like to train for the Olympics.

“We hope this will excite people about snow-sports and inspire future British ski and snowboard athletes.”

“Whether you are a regular visitor to the Snow Centre or if this is your first time, we hope you will come along and get some valuable coaching tips from Woodsy and Billy and have a rare opportunity to see them in action before they head off to the Olympics.”

Woods is a five-time British Freestyle Champion, came third in X Games Aspen last year and third at X Games in Tignes the year before that. He also won the FIS World Cup overall last year and is the current World Number 1.

In 2012, Morgan won the Big Air World Cup in front of his home crowd at the London Freeze, and in 2011 he was the first in the world to land a Triple Backside Rodeo, which no-one has managed to repeat to this day.

With a current sixth place world cup ranking he is one of the UK’s best chances of winning a Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle medal in February’s Winter Olympics in Russia.
