Dacorum & Tring AC had a strong showing in the third leg of the Chiltern League Cross Country in Milton Keynes – with the U15 boys once again finishing first overall in their division and opening up a commanding lead in the five-leg series.
Rhys Rowlands led the boys home, crossing the line in fifth place.
He was followed by Vincent Murray in seventh, Joshua van Heiningen in eighth and Matthew Renphrey in 11th.
For the U13 boys, new club member Kristian Imroth finished an impressive fifth overall, only 28 seconds off first place, while Grace Birdseye took 11th and Calypso Phillips was 17th in the U15 girls’ race.
Gutsy 10-year old Star Phillips crossed the line in 78th spot in a massive U11 girls’ race.
The senior ladies’ team was second overall, with Catherine Davies coming home in seventh – and taking second in the F45 category – followed by Elizabeth Roberts in 15th, Carly Dollman in 19th, Laura Merchant in 32nd, Helen Reardon in 34th and Sam Hawkridge in 44th.
With the club’s top-four male runners out of action due to injury and illness, Oliver Glyn led the men’s team home in 18th, followed by Alex Gardner in 23rd, Ian Needleman in 42nd, Russell Morris in 70th, Richard Smith in 97th, Michael Lamb in 98th, Ken Perry in 103rd, Paul Glyn in 107th, Alex Dean in 110th and Rob Salt in 113th.
John Cooper, Paul Stocker and Peter Dollman completed the roster.
In action the following day, Morris made a stellar debut at the half marathon distance in Sunday’s Bedford Half – crossing the line in 1 hour, 43 minutes and 47 seconds.
Jessica Tanner completed the race in a very respectable time of 1:58.05.
