A COUPLE organised a charity golf event at Berkhamsted Golf range to raise money for Great Ormond Street hospital.

Dave and Becky Marsden put on golf lessons for children in Years 1-6 at Thomas Moore and Greenway School.

The couple have been supporting Great Ormond Street since their daughter – 6-year-old Grace – was rushed there at birth.

Grace was put on a life support machine before later making a full recovery, and as a token of his thanks to the hospital, former golf coach Dave donated all of his lesson income to the charity for the next year.

‘We are eternally grateful to the hospital and staff, they saved our daughter’s life and we regularly find ways to donate to this great charity,” Dave said.

The charitable couple were helped in their most recent fundraiser by hosts Berkhamsted Golf Range who donated use of the bays and balls. They eventually raised a total of £304.

Dave added: “We hope to grow this coaching event next year and we wish to thank all who have supported us.”
