THREE fighters are facing two weeks of hell in the gym as their fight night draws closer.
Hemel Martial Arts coach Denniston Sutherland is putting Jason Cooper, 19, Edward Arthur, 21, and Robert Murphy, 29, through their paces to ensure they are in top condition when they step into the ring on Saturday, September 3.
“There are two weeks now when I am just going to beast them,” said professional fighter Sutherland, better known as Mad Max in the ring.
“It is going to be their hardest two weeks of training.”
All three fighters will compete in their first semi-professional bouts at the Watford Colosseum’s Kayo-Mixed Martial Arts event.
Bus mechanic Jason will fight Tommy Allen, scaffolder Edward will do battle against Tom Ward and BT engineer Robert will face Sebastian Sleczka in the ring.
Sutherland said: “I just want them to give their best – win or lose.”
