Kitcheners ladies lost their Watford & District League match to Croxley Green, but bounced back with a four-rink victory over the Royal British Legion.

On Saturday, they had a four-rink triples match against The Pavilion Oxhey and won 68 - 60. Highest triples for Kitcheners were Sue Halsey, Ian Davis and Alan Doydge.

On Sunday, Kitcheners entertained Potten End in a five-rink mixed match and lost 97-96. Highest rink for Kitcheners was Steve Halsey, Doydge, Bob Rance and Brian Rumph.

In their midweek match against Bovingdon, Kitcheners won 66-63 with highest triples going to Chris Ivin, Steve Mitchell and Chris Phipps.

> Potten End

Potten End played Kitcheners and won 97-95, with the highest winning rink going to Chris Lewis, Hannah Dukony, Brian Lawrence and Jack Frogell.

Elsewhere, Glad Pearce and Sue Marshall are through to the next round of the County Pairs after beating a pair from Bushey 24-11.

Potten End also played a mixed match against Pavillion, winning 101-56 with the top rink played by Sandra Gomm, Alan Howling and Arthur Page.

The club also played Wardown Park but lost 94-65, although highest winning rink went to Alan Jones, Mick Kirkby, John Coleman and Richard Abrahart.

The ladies played Oxhey, winning the league match 30-24, but losing the friendly one 23-20.

They also played Chesham and won 43-40 with highest rink going to Cannie Cheung, Eileen Pacitti and Sheila Howling.

> Tring

Tring’s Lyn Boniface had a comfortable 21-12 win in the County Singles against her opponent from Kings Langley, booking her place in the next round of the competition.

She also came out on top by 21 shots to 18 in a much tighter affair in the W&D Singles against her opponent from Bushey.

In the Ladies’ W&D League, Tring had mixed fortunes as they went down 25-14 against Rickmansworth, before beating Pavilion 23-16.

Bob Kerry reached the quarter-finals in the Men’s County Singles by beating an opponent from Harperbury.

In their W&D league match against Owls, the men won by a 12-shot margin, but in their County League match against Garston they suffered a heavy 57-27 defeat.

> Berkhamsted

In their midweek friendly against Chesham on Wednesday, Carole Dunn, Mary Millar, Eric Millar and David Brown led Berkhamsted to a resounding 94-76 victory, although each side won two rinks apiece.

Berkhamsted continued their winning streak on Sunday when they entertained Hazells BC; once again the opposition managed to score 76 shots but Berkhamsted had the trio of Janet Jackson, Jak Chowdhary and Linda Ralphs to thank for the majority of their 90.

On Sunday, Steve Burrell overcame his opponent from Townsend BC in the National Champion of Champions competition 21-12 – although Burrell said that the wide margin of victory didn’t reflect the standard of play.
