A FITNESS instructor has been hailed as the Male Personal Trainer of the Year.

Steve Cole, who works at Fitness First Berkhamted, impressed judges with his attitude and achievements.

The 30-year-old from Hemel Hempstead, who has worked at the gym since 2004, said: “I was stunned when I heard that I’d won.

“Sharing my passion for fitness with other people is something I’ve always enjoyed and it’s amazing to see the results.

“My father was an athlete so I am following in his footsteps. When my mum suffered a brain haemorrhage some years ago, I really threw myself into the training and I’ve been able to help her through her rehabilitation.”

Rehabilitation was a particular aspect of Steve’s work which impressed the judges.

Fitness First UK director said Derek Crawford said: “Steve is an inspiration and the feedback we hear from his clients is outstanding,’’

“It is a fitting tribute to Steve’s dedication. He has made a lasting impact on the lives of many people.”
