Berkhamsted young guns are making their mark on the court

A youngster from Berkhamsted Lawn Tennis & Squash Rackets Club has been making her mark on the junior squash circuit with a number of impressive victories.

Chloe Spratt, 12 is ranked number one in Hertfordshire in her age group and recently won the Akira Beds Junior Open girls’ U13 competition.

She went the whole tournament without dropping a game and beat the number 1 seed in the final to clinch the title.

Two weeks ago, Chloe came 10th in the girls’ U13 event at the Tecnifibre British junior championships in Winchester.

Meanwhile, other Berkhamsted representatives were in action alongside Chloe at the Akira Bedfordshire Junior Squash Open at Luton and Dunstable Squash Club.

Hamish Gillams won the U17 boys’ title, while brothers Zan Farooqi and Hasnaat Farooqi finished second in the U11 and U19 boys’ events, respectively.

Hasnaat, 15, did particularly well in the U19 event as he took on boys up to four years older than himself.
