The Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club ladies’ second XI have been crowned champions of their division.

Taking on second-placed Potters Bar, with both teams already promoted, the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

That meant that Berko finished the season with 37 points, having won 12 of their 16 games and racking up a goal difference of +29.

Elsewhere, the mens’ first and fifth teams both won but the fourth XI lost narrowly to Hertford.

The firsts knew only a win would be good enough in their fight against relegation, and they duly saw off Southgate Adelaide 5-2 with goals from Sam Philip (3), Gary Stanwell and Pete Allam.

The Men’s fifths thrashed Hertford 6-0, but the fourths went down 3-2 in their clash.
