Roaring success for Whipsnade juniors

The Whipsnade Park Golf Club juniors have been crowned Ver Plate champions after defeating the Mid-Herts GC juniors in the final of the competition.

The Whipsnade youngsters saw off competition from 11 other clubs to book their place in the final, where they saw off Mid-Herts by eight points to six points over a two-legged match.

The competition takes it name from the river Ver which runs through Verulam Golf Club – the founders of the league.

Russell Sears, WPGC Ver League organiser said: “This was a great win for our juniors because two years ago we were knocked out in the final against Mid-Herts.”
