THE Herts Sports Partnership will welcome two special guests to its AGM in June, giving the event a real Olympic and Paralympic feel.
LOCOG deputy chairman Sir Keith Mills and Paralympic footballer David Clarke will attend the event to give their views on this summer’s showcase events.
Sir Keith is currently overseeing operations for London 2012 and is also chairman of the International Inspiration Foundation – established to inspire young people to choose sport.
A successful marketing entrepreneur, Sir Keith founded Air Miles International and developed the Nectar rewards programme.
His presentation, entitled Making the Most of the Games, will focus on the inspiration and legacy provided by hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Meanwhile, the title of Clarke’s presentation will be Scoring for England.
He is an international blind footballer, having represented Great Britain and England on 104 occasions, scoring a total of 98 goals.
He is a three-time European Championship Golden Boot winner, and will represent Team GB at the Paralympic Games, before retiring to make way for the younger blind footballers he has helped to inspire.
Well respected throughout the world as a star striker, he is considered a superb role model, and has lived and worked in Hertfordshire for many years.
An open invitation to attend the AGM is extended to anyone interested in sport in Hertfordshire.
The evening will be held on Tuesday, June 12 at the Hertfordshire Sports Village in Hatfield, starting at 7pm with a light buffet and ending with coffee and cake.
