With the Long Marston first team’s cup clash falling foul of a waterlogged pitch, it was a chance for the Reserves to take the limelight against Wingrave.

In a very tight and competitive match, the game was settled from the penalty spot as Long Marston keeper Jens von Haefen slotted home the winner.

With a number off superb saves on top of that, it was no surprise that von Haefen was named man of the match.

Long Marston youngster Cawley Tower was back in action after breaking his foot in the opening game off the season, and he also put in an excellent display on his return to the pitch.

The first team are back in action on Saturday afternoon, hosting rivals Aston Clinton in a local derby clash.
