Hemel Hempstead Town FC recorded an impressive 3-2 win over a young Crystal Palace side at Vauxhall Road on Tuesday night.

Premier League newboys Palace sent a largely U21 side to face the Tudors, in what turned out to be a gripping and hard fought pre-season encounter.

Hemel opened the scoring through Ollie Thorne, and Ben Mackey made it 2-1 to the Tudors from the penalty spot after Palace had equalised.

The visitors restored parity again in the second half, and it was left to Ryan Plowright to fire home the Hemel winner late on.
