Hemel Hempstead Town have completed a double swoop as manager Dean Brennan adds strength to his injury-ravaged squad.
Defender Josh Hill has signed on loan from National League neighbours Boreham Wood until Boxing Day, while 19-year-old defender Mayowa Balogun heads to Vauxhall Road having been released by Wigan Athletic at the end of last season.
Hill signed for Boreham Wood at the end of the 2012/13 season from then Conference National side Dartford. After a string of impressive performances, Hill was offered a contract for the 2014/15 season as Wood achieved promotion in his second full season at the club.
He began his career at Coalville Town, before heading to Worksop Town and then signing for Dartford. Hill has also previously played for Loughborough University and Ilkeston FC.
Balogun, meanwhile, is a left-sided player who can operate in defence or midfield. He began his career at Sheffield Wednesday, where he made his debut for the first team in a pre-season friendly aged just 15 years and 335 days.
He played for the Owls’ U21s at the age of 16 before moving to Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2013. He was a member of Wigan’s Development Squad before being released at the end of last season.
