Aylesbury United 5 Tring Athletic 0
Tring Athletic were thrashed by near neighbours Aylesbury United as the hosts put in a five-star display to take the three points.
Ben Butler hit a brace – the first goal coming after just 65 seconds – and Greg Williams, Louis Austin and Ben Baines were also on target.
Butler’s opener got the Ducks off to a flyer, and they never looked back with Tring rarely threatening Jack Sillitoe in the Aylesbury goal.
What should have been a routine clearance became a problem when young James Butler slipped and Aylesbury forward Butler took the opportunity to fire home a good shot from outside the area to give United an early boost.
Williams added the second on the half-hour mark, volleying home Paul Edgeworth’s corner to give the hosts a commanding 2-0 lead at half-time.
After the break the one-way traffic continued, and a third goal arrived courtesy of former Levy Green favourite Austin’s composed finish, before Baines bundled home the fourth
The misery was further heaped on Tring when they were reduced to ten-men as Matt Jarvis picked up a second yellow card for dissent, and Aylesbury wrapped up the win when Butler scored a stoppage time screamer to make the final score 5-0.
The defeat leaves Tring in 16th place in the MSSML Premier Division table, while high-flying Aylesbury stay second.
