Tring School have been crowned Year 8 district champions after beating Cavendish School 4-1 in the District Cup final at Hemel Town FC’s Vauxhall Road ground.
Kicking uphill in the first half, Tring started brightly and played some good football but fell behind to a Cavendish goal against the run of play.
Trailing 1-0 at half-time, Tring coach Tom Guiney told his side to remain calm and carry on playing as they were and the goals would come.
And sure enough, Tring soon found a way through the Cavendish defence to turn the game on its head.
Chris Butler scored twice and Will Darraugh and Harrison Woods got one each, as Tring romped to an emphatic 4-1 victory.
Tring captain Harry Poll proudly received the cup on behalf of his team.
