A charity football match at Kings Langley FC in honour of a dad-of-four who passed away in 2011 has raised more than £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
Ian Thomson, born and bred in Hemel Hempstead, died from a heart-related problem aged just 40 – leaving behind his four children Ellie, Connie, Lewis and Madison.
Also known as Tommo, Ian grew up in Grovehill, went to Astley Cooper School and was a keen footballer in his younger years, playing for Phoenix and Emerald Vale. He moved to Leighton Buzzard with his family around eight years ago.
The charity game saw old friends of Ian playing under the guise of Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid. The game finished 3-3 with Real Madrid winning on penalties.
