As if Hemel Town’s FA Cup exploits were not enough, there was yet more drama on Tuesday night – as Leverstock Green’s long losing streak finally came to an end.
Levy had lost their previous 13 games in all competitions – a sequence stretching back to mid-August – but they put in a much-improved display to see off London Tigers 3-1 in the Premier Division Cup.
Tom Hardy scored in the first half, with Connor Deadman adding the second in the 47th minute and Daren Bloor making it 3-0 in the 74th minute.
Tigers pulled a goal back, but Levy held out for the win despite being under some pressure, with a good performance in goal from Dan Blacktopp.
Green are away again in the next round, this time at Hadley.
The side should pick up some much-needed confidence and momentum from Tuesday night’s result, and take it into Saturday’s Challenge Trophy tie at home to St Margaretsbury.
