Hemel Hempstead Town FC have been awarded the prestigious Sir Stanley Rous Memorial Trophy.
The prize is awarded to clubs, individuals, officials or leagues in Hertfordshire who have enjoyed a stand-out season on or off the field.
The members of the Herts FA Competitions Committee all have a free vote at the end of each season as to who they think should win the trophy, and Hemel Town were announced as the winner at this year’s AGM.
The Tudors enjoyed a successful 2012/13 campaign which included their first ever triumph in the Herts FA Senior Challenge Cup, as well as an a appearance in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division play-off final.
A Herts FA spokesman also commented on the Tudors’ excellent reputation in the local community for promoting local grass roots and small-sided football.
The club will be presented with the trophy at a home match next season, either before the game or at half-time.
Hemel are currently preparing for a busy pre-season schedule, which includes a trip to Leverstock Green on Saturday, July 13.
Dean Brennan’s side will also take on Premier League newboys Crystal Palace at Vauxhall Road on Tuesday, July 23.
