HEMEL Rovers beat SWR Doors by five goals to two in an entertaining Dacorum derby.
While the end result was very one-sided, it did not paint the full picture of a hard-fought game which included seven very well-taken goals.
Rovers’ Paul Hanafan notched a brace – one a mazy run from the half-way line before an unstoppable shot into the net – as did Tom Porter, who fired home a spectacular 25-yard volley.
Jordan Aikman completed the scoring for Rovers as he beat two defenders before lashing the ball high into the Doors net.
SWR also crashed in a couple of stunning goals themselves, courtesy of Joel Williams and Rick Parkins, but it was not enough to prevent Rovers taking all three points.
Elsewhere, Kings Sports came from behind at Oxhey Jets to win 3-2 thanks to two goals from Henry Dakkat and one 25-yard effort from Chris Pountney.
It was not such good news for lowly Bovingdon, however as their end-of-season woe continued with a 7-1 thrashing at Oxhey Wanderers – leaving them rooted to the foot of the table.
Gadebridge FC lost 3-0 against a very good Abbotts Langley outfit, but Hemel Sharpshooters ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against Croxley to maintain their place in mid-table.
Warren Davies got his name on the scoresheet again for Sharpshooters with two goals, while Matt Reynolds and Dan Howard were also on target.
