Hemel Town held a decent Reading XI side to a draw at Vauxhall Road as they continued their impressive pre-season form.

Reading took the lead in the first half through Jordan Obita, but Matt Nolan headed home an equaliser for Hemel after half-time.

Both teams played some attractive football in a lively opening to the game, but it was the visiting Royals who had the first chance as Dominic Samerell fired wide.

Hemel had chances of their own, with Richard Langley curling a free-kick over the bar, before Alex Campana was denied by a good save.

It was Reading who took the lead, however, as Obita cut inside from the right and fired past Osborn at his near post.

Hemel looked sharp in the second half, though, and Nolan restored parity as he headed home Danny May’s cross.

Dave Pearce came close to winning the game for the Tudors but, in the end, a draw was a fair result.
