Hemel Hempstead Town FC are gearing up for two vital games over the Easter weekend which will go a long way to deciding the Calor league Southern Premier Division title.
The table-topping Tudors travel to playoff chasing Hungerford Town tomorrow, before welcoming second-placed Chesham United to Vauxhall Road on Easter Monday for a mouthwatering title six-pointer.
Dean Brennan’s Hemel side are unbeaten in nine league games, but have been held to two 0-0 draws in consecutive matches, by St Albans City and Hitchin – leaving Chesham uncomfortably close in second.
Saturday will be the third time The Tudors have taken on The Crusaders this season; Hemel beat Hungerford 2-1 when the two sides met in the league back in August, but Hungerford got their revenge in a 5-0 victory in the FA Trophy in November.
The clash is a vitally-important one for both sides, with Hungerford enjoying a run of 10 consecutive wins which has seen them rise from ninth place to sixth and on the verge of the playoffs.
Monday’s clash with Chesham, meanwhile, is one that has been eagerly awaited by both clubs since the fixtures were announced.
Chesham have cut Hemel’s lead at the top of the table, and a win for either side on Monday would put them in pole position for the title.
Advance tickets are on sale for our Monday’s game, and free U18 tickets are also available from Hemel Town FC sponsors Underwoods Solicitors.
The tickets will allow you fast-track entry and can be purchased from the bar at Vauxhall Road, The Greenacres Tavern in Bennetts End, The Greenaces II in Grovehill and Underwoods Solicitors in Marlowes.
All U18s need to do is visit the Underwoods Solicitors offices at 79 Marlowes to pick up the free tickets.
The turnstiles are expected to be extremely busy, so pre-purchase of tickets is strongly recommended.
Also on sale at the football club and Underwoods are charity match tickets for a celebrity/ex-pro XI vs a team made up of Chesham and Hemel players on Saturday, May 17.
