Levy Green were unable to keep up their recent run of good performances as they fell to a 3-1 home defeat to London Tigers on Tuesday night.
Having not taken their chances early on, Levy found themselves behind to a goal against the run of play in the 26th minute when Ayoube Amellal crossed to the far post, where Emanuel Sam stooped to head home a soft goal.
There were further chances for Leverstock, with Curtis Donaldson having an effort saved and a second shot going into the side netting.
At the other end Jabir Laraba hit the post with a shot in the 41st minute, but a minute before the break Leverstock finally got on the scoresheet.
Addison’s pass gave Laville a run at goal, and despite the attentions of two defenders on the edge of the box, Laville still worked the space to curl a shot into the corner of the net for a 1-1 half-time scoreline.
The second half promised much, but it proved to be a bit of a damp squib from the Leverstock perspective.
While the Green side struggled to keep possession, the visitors looked dangerous going forward.
They took the lead in the 64th with a goal that was somewhat gifted to them; Liam Jahn’s goal-kick came up short of the halfway line and was headed back towards goal, where Sufian Bettamer outpaced the defence and shot past Jahn.
The only real chance Leverstock created in the second half was from a free-kick on 70 minutes as Donaldson put a good ball into the box, but Alex McCarthy headed wide.
A third Tigers goal on 81 minutes put them in control, as Laraba finished an incisive counter-attack with a fine shot past Jahn.
Things got worse for Leverstock as Jahn was shown a straight red card in the 87th minute after bringing down a Tigers player just outside the penalty area.
Outfield player Connor Deadman took over in goal until Jack Bridges was ready to come on, and saw the resulting free-kick strike the bar.
Leverstock’s night was summed up in stoppage time, as a shot from Ollie Buckley was fumbled by Constable, and as Addison netted the rebound he was flagged offside.
Leverstock now face a crucial Dacorum derby at home to Tring Athletic on Saturday.
