Kings make it a treble with win over Amersham

Kings Langley finally put together three successive league wins as they saw off Amersham Town.

In truth, the game was a fairly low key affair – with little incident of note – but the home side produced a workmanlike performance to register the double over Amersham, who are struggling at the wrong end of the table.

In-form Craig Lynskey was set free on the right before cutting in to score midway through the first half, before a superb left-footed free-kick from Chris Mason found the top corner of the net to double Kings’ advantage.

Town looked to respond and Adam Clark failed to get onto the end of a low cross, before seeing a shot well saved by Kings keeper Ross Hampton.

At the other end, Jimmy Armstrong was denied twice by keeper Perrie Cheadle.

Although Gary Wallace, Luke Ladyman and Town’s Martin Griggs needed lengthy treatment, one caution apiece summed up a sporting encounter
