Hemel Hempstead Town FC are hoping to continue their scintillating run of form when they travel to St Neots tomorrow in the Calor league Southern Premier Division.

The Tudors go into the game on the back of two emphatic wins in their last two outings which saw them thrash North Greenford United 9-1 in the FA Trophy on Saturday, before recording a club record 10-0 home win against Bashley on Tuesday night.

Centre-forward Ben Mackey is on an unstoppable run at the moment, having helped himself to nine goals in those two games, taking his tally to 21 goals from 22 appearances so far this campaign.

Second-placed Hemel go into Saturday’s game as clear favourites, with St Neots languishing in 22nd place in the division after picking up just six points from their 13 league games so far this season.

Another big win would keep the Tudors on track to break the Southern Premier goalscoring record which has stood for more than 60 years.

Merthyr Tydfil scored 156 goals in 44 games in the 1950/51 season, averaging 3.55 goals per game. High-flying Hemel are currently averaging 3.77.

Dean Brennan’s side sit three points adrift of table-topping Chesham, but the Tudors have two games in hand over their title rivals. They have also opened up a seven-point gap over third-placed Cambridge City.

Hemel will have their usual supply of vociferous support at Saturday’s match, with a supporters’ coach fully sold out for the trip.

Football statistics and predictions website betstatz.com think the game will be another easy victory for the Tudors.

St Neots have conceded 15 goals in their last four league games – an average of 3.75 per game – and with Hemel scoring 20 goals in their last four matches and boasting the title of ‘best attack in Europe this season’, fans can expect another high-scoring game.

Betstatz owner Nick Gelis said: “Betstatz is backing Hemel to win, over 4.5 goals and 5-0 Hemel this week. You just can’t ignore the Hemel goalscoring form so far this season!”
