HertSavers Credit Union has become the official sponsor of the Herts Senior County League for the 2013-14 football season.

The League will be known as the HertSavers Senior County League for the duration of the sponsorship, which may be extended to the 2014-15 season.

HertSavers Credit Union is a not-for-profit organisation that exists to help people who live and work in Hertfordshire manage their finances by offering savings and affordable loan services.

Bob Brewster, vice president of the HSCL, said: “I was negotiating with several companies for the league sponsorship.

“HertSavers were unable to match the commercial companies financially, however we all decided that HertSavers best represented our ethics, and we are all very delighted to have formed this agreement”.

The HSCL has a proud history dating back to 1898 and has a current membership of 39 clubs entering 67 teams organised into senior, reserve and development sections.

Additionally, with the support of Herts FA, the HSCL have merged with the Herts Inclusive Football League, a competition that provides football for people with a broad range of learning and physical disabilities.

Tony Bailey, HertSavers CEO said: “When Mr Brewster mentioned the Inclusive League we were very interested as not only did the commitment fit into our brand of helping the community, but we could also raise awareness of our services to these people.”
