Tudors chairman Dave Boggins says it was a proud moment for himself and the club as they lifted the Herts Senior Cup for the second time in three years on Tuesday night.

Hemel saw off Vanarama Conference South rivals Boreham Wood 1-0 at The County Ground courtesy of a splendid free-kick from skipper Jordan Parkes, and Boggins was understandably delighted at the end of the game.

“There aren’t words to describe how proud I am – it’s brilliant, absolutely brilliant,” he said. “It just makes all the hard work worthwhile.”

“It was excellent – It was a really great performance, especially in the second half.

“In the first half I was a little bit concerned as we didn’t have much of the play, but we changed a few things in the second half and it seemed to work.

“To win this trophy twice in three years is excellent.”

Boggins said the result was made all the more special by the fact that Hemel got their revenge over Boreham Wood following two league defeats this season

He added: “It’s always nice to get one over Boreham Wood, especially after they beat us twice this season.

“They did a great job on us early in the season and woke us up to the Conference South, but in the second game away to them I thought we were quite unlucky.”
