Berkhamsted U18 0 Hemel Town U18 1
A wonder-strike from Ben Pattie was enough to earn Hemel Hempstead Town U18 all three points in a top-of-the-table clash with Berkhamsted U18.
Berkhamsted went into the game knowing a win would be enough to clinch the Delphian Division title, but Pattie pounced with six minutes left to play to earn the vital win for Hemel.
The Tudors now need just a point from their one remaining league fixture, against Leverstock Green, to snatch the title from the Comrades.
In an entertaining clash befitting its importance, Berkhamsted hit the woodwork in the first half, while Pattie lead the line superbly for Hemel with a couple of long range strikes which failed to beat the home keeper.
The second half started brightly for the Tudors, with Pattie and Elias Armah-Tackie both denied by good saves.
Berko also looked dangerous at the other end, but James Shaw could have opened the scoring when he was denied in a one-on-one with eight minutes left.
The match-winning moment came shortly afterwards, though, as Jack Waldren dispossessed his man just inside the Hemel half.
He played the ball through to Pattie, and the striker lofted the ball over the goalkeeper from long range to clinch the dramatic win for his side.
