Hemel Hempstead Town started their pre-season friendly campaign with a 2-0 win over Southern Premier Division side Hungerford Town at Newbury FC on Tuesday evening.
Tudors striker Oliver Hawkins opened the scoring for Dean Brennan’s side after 15 minutes, before the win was sealed in the second half as a trialist made it 2-0 to Hemel.
It was a good work out for the Tudors, who fielded a completely different 11 after the interval – ensuring the whole squad got some valuable match action.
Apart from the goals, there was little action of note, but Hemel will be satisfied with a job well done on their first appearance since the summer break.
Next up for the Tudors is a clash with Met Police Bushey at 3pm on Saturday, before Brennan’s men take on Biggleswade Town next Tuesday.
That is followed by a trip to Brackley Town seven days later, before a visit to Arlesey on Thursday, July 23 and a home match with a Reading XI on Saturday, July 25.
