Green hit for six as Cheshunt reach final
Leverstock Green 3 Cheshunt 6
LEVY Green crashed out of the Herts Senior Cup at the semi-final stage as they were undone by a late flurry of goals at home to Ryman League side Cheshunt.
After pegging Cheshunt back, Levy conceded four goals in the last 30 minutes as the visitors booked their place in the final.
Cheshunt led 2-0 at half-time through goals from Joe Bricknell after 18 and 25 minutes, but Green levelled the game at 2-2 within 15 minutes of the restart thanks to a brace from Junior Owusu-Akonor.
After that, however, Green fell apart and Cheshunt took control with goals from Josh Hutchinson, Dan Rolls, Gary Bowes and Kevin Ashwood.
Levy hit back with an own goal in stoppage time, but it was too little too late for Steve Heath’s side and Cheshunt went through.
Next up for Green is a league fixture at Biggleswade United on Saturday.
Levy currently occupy sixth place in the table, while Biggleswade sit 19th.
