Leverstock Green fell to a controversial late penalty decision as they were beaten 2-1 by Oxhey Jets.

A makeshift Green side had put in a fine display and looked to be heading for a draw after Adiel Mannion had cancelled out Chris McIntyre’s opener.

But with just two minutes left to play, the referee blew his whistle for a foul in the penalty area during an Oxhey attack.

It was unclear what the foul had been given for, but after a lengthy discussion with his linesman, the referee pointed to the penalty spot and Lewis Putman stepped up to blast home the winner.
