Harefield United 1 Leverstock Green 3
Leverstock Green maintained their 100 per cent away record in the MSSML Premier Division this season with a deserved win at Harefield United.
Steve Benitez’s side have now picked up a maximum 15 points from their five away games so far this campaign, and were good value for their latest triumph.
Levy opened the scoring in the 38th minute through Tobi Akin, and Green wrapped up the win after the break with further goals from Sam Lyon and Akin.
Despite missing skipper Adam Hallissey through injury, Green started the game well and created a host of early chances.
The most clear-cut of these fell to Akin, who was guilty of a calamitous miss after 25 minutes.
Akin raced through and found himself with an open goal, two yards out. He only needed to tap the ball home, but somehow contrived to fall and scoop the ball over the bar.
To his credit, however, Akin did not let his head drop and gave Levy the deserved lead seven minutes before half-time.
Adiel Mannion sent over a cross from the right, and Akin was on hand to fire home a first-time effort from six yards out.
And it did not take Levy long to double their lead after half-time.
Three Green players saw efforts blocked during a goalmouth scramble, before the ball eventually fell to Lyon to force home his first goal for the club.
And it was 3-0 shortly afterwards. Mannion played Akin through on goal, and he rounded the keeper to slot home.
A rare lapse in concentration from the Levy Green defence allowed Harefield to pull a goal back after 73 minutes through substitute Sammi Kunani, but the visitors held on well for the three points.
