The man who helped bring through young stars such as Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be the keynote speaker at the Hertfordshire FA’s second Youth Football Conference.

Matt Crocker, the FA’s new head of player and coach development, will address delegates at the conference, which is being held at the Fielder Centre, Hatfield on Thursday, November 28.

Crocker was recruited by the FA earlier this year following spells heading up the academies at Cardiff City and Southampton.

He helped set up the Bluebirds academy which has produced the likes of Arsenal ace Ramsey, Joe Ledley, Cameron Jerome and Darcy Blake.

After a spell working in America, Crocker has spent the last seven years overseeing the successful Southampton youth system, which has nurtured the talents of Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Everyone involved and committed to youth football is invited to attend the conference, and Hertfordshire FA staff will be on hand to field questions about developing and governing football in the county

The conference runs from 7pm-10pm, with the venue open for registration from 6pm.

The first 50 places booked online are being offered free of charge. Visit www.hertfordshirefa.com
